Bruce Murray

Bruce Murray was awarded the Master Professional status in 1981. He has been a member of the PGA of Canada since 1959.

His career spans 60 years as both a Head Professional and Director of Golf at many of Canada’s prestigious clubs, including Royal Montreal, Shaunghnessy, St. Catharines, Wildfire and Rockway. Bruce’s career has been highlighted by his involvement with the PGA of Canada at the National level for over 15 years. He was also a Director in the Ontario, Quebec and Ottawa sections as well as President of the Ontario PGA. Bruce’s passion has always been teaching, resulting in four Provincial and National champions, including Mary Ann Hayward, a member of the Golf Hall of Fame. Bruce’s teaching history also includes 25 years on cruise ships traveling around the world.

His own playing successes include a win on the lucrative Quebec Tour at the Sherbrook Open, the Bermuda Goodwill Championship and PGA Of Ottawa Championship, as well as numerous pro-ams in the various regions. Early in his career he was runner up to Moe Norman in the Hunt Trophy Championship in Ontario, where he was awarded an exemption into the Canadian Open the following year.

Bruce was inducted into the Ontario PGA hall of Fame in 2024.
