Stanley Kolar
Stanley Kolar was a pillar of the Ottawa PGA Association having served Nationally and at the Ottawa PGA Zone level.
Stanley began his career in 1938 as an assistant at the Kenora Golf Club and moved on to Fort Francis as the Head Professional/Greens Keeper before joining the RCAF for four years. In 1948, he became the Head Professional at the Gatineau Golf Club and then in 1952, he joined the Chaudiere Golf Glub as the Head Professional where he remained for 30 years until his retirement in 1982.
Some of Stanley’s accomplishments as a PGA of Canada member include:
1975: Became one only of four Master Professionals in Canada
1976: Serve don the National Teaching Panel
1978: Named Club Professional of the Year
1998: Honoured as a 50-year member
Stanley passed away on December 23, 2002. His contributions to the PGA of Canada and to golf in Canada will always be remembered by his peers and the Association.
